Research on digital transformation of Engineering Construction Enterprises -- intelligent construction (development status)

Editor's note: on July 28, 2020, the Ministry of housing and urban rural development and other 13 departments jointly issued the guiding opinions on promoting the coordinated development of intelligent construction and building industrialization, which should take the vigorous development of building industrialization as the carrier, take digitization and intelligent upgrading as the driving force, innovate and break through relevant core technologies, and increase the application of intelligent construction in all links of engineering construction. Combined with the current development status, we have done a research on intelligent construction, that is, the research on the digital transformation of Engineering Construction Enterprises - intelligent construction. This issue discusses the technical development of intelligent construction at home and abroad, and understands the development trend of intelligent construction in the construction industry.
Abstract: in April 2021, Zhang Xiaohong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of housing and urban rural development, led a research team to Hunan to investigate the development of the construction industry, focusing on the production of intelligent manufacturing components and the assembly decoration process, the intelligent construction platform of the whole industry chain and the application of BIM technology in the project, and affirmed the effectiveness of the assembly building, It has played a positive role in promoting the high-quality development of the construction industry. The development of prefabricated buildings is an important entry point to promote intelligent construction and the upgrading of building industrialization. With the development and mutual penetration of computer technology, communication technology and control technology, intelligent construction has become an inevitable trend of the development of the construction industry and an important starting point for transformation and upgrading. At present, in the practice and exploration of intelligent construction in China, technologies such as BIM, Internet of things and artificial intelligence have been integrated and applied in some construction enterprises.
1、 Understanding intelligent construction
Intelligent construction is a new construction mode based on digitization, networking and intelligence. Through the application of intelligent system, it can improve the intelligent level in the construction process, reduce the dependence on people, achieve the purpose of safe construction, and have a far-reaching impact on the construction industry. It covers the design, production and construction stages of construction projects, realizes the data integration of the whole industry chain with the help of new technology, and provides support for the whole life cycle management. At the same time, intelligent construction is also an important support for smart city construction and an important way to realize the digitization of buildings and urban infrastructure.
2、 Development status of intelligent construction technology
01 development of intelligent construction abroad
The United States and Europe are countries and regions that developed BIM Technology earlier, about ten years earlier than other countries. In recent years, Singapore, Japan and South Korea have also gradually realized some or all applications of BIM Technology. The Internet of things technology was first proposed in the United States. In 2009, the United States took the Internet of things technology as one of the six key technologies affecting the United States in 2025. Subsequently, the European Union, Japan and South Korea also issued corresponding implementation policies to vigorously develop the Internet of things. The development of 3D printing technology in developed countries such as the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom is also very early, with a lot of capital investment. For example, the United States invested $85 million in 2013; The EU invested 160 million euros from 2004 to 2013. In terms of talent education, the United States carried out reform and innovation earlier, relying on the market economic system to make changes; In 2005, the European Union launched the "European digital functional architecture standard", which was initially formulated for the functional objectives of information and communication technology (ICT) professionals required by large European enterprises. Now it has developed to version 3.0 (e-cf3.0), and subsequently derived the "eskills for job 2016" plan to solve the digital talent and skill gap in Europe; In 2009, Japan introduced i-japan, which proposed to cultivate professionals with high digital ability, and subsequently launched ICT growth strategy, smart Japan ICT strategy, integrated innovation strategy and comprehensive innovation strategy. A series of strategies explored the talent training mechanism of integrating university teaching and students into the work platform through research.

The development of artificial intelligence technology, big data technology, cloud computing and other technologies represented by the United States, Britain and Germany is at the forefront of the world. The policies issued by the government, funds invested, technology R & D and talent training all support the development of intelligent technology. The application and development of intelligent construction abroad are shown in Table 1.

02 development of intelligent construction in China

Although China's BIM Technology started late, it has developed rapidly. Since 2012, the Internet of things has been introduced into the construction industry to realize the information interaction between buildings and components, people and things, and things and things. The development of 3D printing technology has a certain practical foundation. In 2013, additive manufacturing was included in the national key support field for the first time, and the research and development of 3D printing software platform was accelerated; The development speed accelerated in 2016 and 2017, and three special policies were issued in 2017 to make up for the unclear 3D printing technology route in recent years. In 2018, the villa in Suzhou Industrial Park was the world's highest 3D printing building in that year. At the same time, intelligent construction will be incorporated into the undergraduate major of ordinary colleges and universities in China for the first time in 2018 to adapt to the new engineering major characterized by "informatization" and "intelligence". It is a necessary professional and technical personnel to promote the construction of intelligent projects in China. In recent years, China's construction industry has also issued policies on artificial intelligence construction, big data and other technologies to vigorously develop information technology. The development of domestic intelligent construction is shown in Table 2.

3、 Comparison of intelligent construction technology at home and abroad

At present, the technology of foreign developed countries still leads the overall direction. For a long time, China has not invested enough in the R & D of key information and digital technologies, such as basic materials, key components and other technologies, resulting in slow or even out of gear technology research and development; In addition, there is a situation of "emphasizing hardware and neglecting software" in R & D investment, which also leads to the slow improvement of basic software. The United States and a few other countries have strengthened restrictions on the exchange of talents, investment and technology in China's high-tech fields, such as artificial intelligence, robotics and the Internet. Although China's intelligent construction technology has developed rapidly and achieved certain results, there are also contradictions and problems, mainly in five aspects, as shown in Figure 1.

On the whole, the construction industry has ushered in a new situation. At the same time, the information age is creating a platform for rapid development of the construction industry. In the future, these intelligent construction technologies will integrate the data of design, construction, management and other parties, so as to lay a foundation for the transformation and upgrading of informatization and intelligence in the construction industry, so as to better promote the development of intelligent construction technology.
